The official WhatsApp application for Android has just received a major update, which premieres a new completely revamped interface that uses the Holo theme and incorporates the recommendations of Google for the design of Android Apps.
The arrival of LINE and its success in short seem to have made to react those at WhatsApp, who wants to remain the undisputed king in terms of messaging applications. With this new update, the first thing we see is that the top menu is now flat and has a design more in line with the recommendations in terms of the user interface. In addition, the text entry space has also been redesigned with bubbles messages which also are flat and with straight lines.
Another change we observe in the emoticons, which are now next to the text field facilitating and speeding access. At the same time, the setup menu has also been redesigned and is now displayed in a list.
This new version 2.9.2239 of WhatsApp is not yet available to download from Google Play but probably will be in the coming days. Here is the official APK so you can test the new interface now.
