In a few days will be held one of the most important technology events of the year, what to expect?

We have already seen what are the most eagerly awaited devices of 2013, and although not all of them will be presented at the upcoming event, some companies will put their cards on the table for what will be a tough battle for the Android market in 2013.

The event called Consumer Electronics Association (CES) will gather some of the most important electronic companies in the world in Las Vegas, from 8 to 11 January, and in it we will see some interesting presentations of what’s to come in 2013.

The year of the 5-inch smarpthones

Contrary to what happened last year, where the tablets took center stage, this seems to be the year of the 5-inch smartphones, who once would have been called “Phablets” although now that margin has become even more blurred. With some absences, these brands will be showcasing their devices to battle in 2013:

We already have knowledge of the two flagships that  Sony will have for 2013, and these are the Sony Xperia Z (Yuga) and Sony Xperia ZL (Odin). These devices will have a stunning 5-inch display 1080p Full HD, Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor, 2 GB of RAM, 12 MP camera and Android Jelly Bean. No doubt that Sony will be the strongest brand to make presentations at this event.

It is expected that the Chinese brand will submit three new models in this CES 2013, two of them Android and one with Windos Phone 8. As far as we are concerned, wich is Android, we find the Huawei Ascend D2 and Huawei Ascend Mate, the first smartphone and second phablet / tablet.

The Huawei Ascend D2 will have a size of 5 inches and offer a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. As for its processor, expect a quad-core 1.5 GHz developed by the same company, 13 MP Camera and 2 GB of RAM.

On the side of the Huawei Ascend Mate we find similar specs to the D2, with a 6.1-inch display also Full HD 1080p, which will have a large 4000 mAh battery to provide longer life.

The Taiwanese company will present the thinnest 5-inch device of the market, at least for now, which will be the ZTE Grand S, a high-end device that will attempt to stomp on the market.

In the year of the 5 inch ZTE does not intend to stay outside, and that is why it is expected that the ZTE Grand S incorporates a 5-inch display Full HD 1080p, Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro Quad-Core 1.5 GHz, Adreno 320 GPU , 2 GB of RAM and a 13 megapixel camera. To this we add the promise of offering a wide variety of colors.

The Galaxy S4 is the most anticipated Android device of the year, but we know that will not see it until May. However, it is likely that the directors of Samsung present a prototype of it to the top executives of both carriers and other companies executives, the bad is that will not be for the public. For now we can only settle with what appears to be the first official picture of the device.

Outside the Galaxy S4, Samsung is expected to launch some other device with Windows Phone 8 and Tizen, a move that could cost dearly both to Google and Samsung, while the Cupertino await.

Not sure if we will see presentations of new devices of the other big Korean company, but some rumors suggest that the LG Optimus G2 could see the light in this CES 2013. This device would incorporate a 5.5 inch display 1080p FullHD, Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Prime MSM8974 and 2 GB of RAM.

The company is expected to present its new Tegra processor line, which generates much enthusiasm as their previous products have been more than satisfactory and you may see the results especially in the Nexus 7, the best 7-inch Android tablet.

Notably absent

Those brands that have not pronounced, and therefore we will not see them at CES 2013, may have planned to make its appearance in February at the Mobile World Congress, which will be held in Barcelona from 25 to 28. Among the major brands that will be absent in this CES 2013 we find HTC, Motorola and Nokia, although the latter shows no signs of joining Android.

Of Motorola little or nothing is known, and it is likely that Google is is still deliberating what to do with the struggling former leader company in the mobile market.

However, by the side of HTC we find the HTC M7 a device which had been rumored that could be presented in this CES 2013 but so far has not confirmed anything. This device is expected to incorporate a 4.7 inch display 1080p SOLUX 468ppi, a quad-core processor Snapdragon 1.7GHz Quad-core, 2 GB of RAM, 13 MP rear camera and 2 MP frontal, connectivity LTE / HSPA +, Android Jelly Bean (Sense 5), 2300 mAh battery and Beats Audio.

At the moment this is the information handled, and we´ll look forward to everything that happens at CES 2013 to bring you all the news. Stay tuned to AndroidADN to keep abreast.
