Today began arriving early nightlies of CyanogenMod 10.1 for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. These allow us to have the latest version of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean on our devices, but you need ROOT access and install ClockworkMod Recovery on our current firmware.

ROOT SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 2 WITH CF-ROOT

1 – Download and unzip the following files on the desktop of the PC for easy access to them:

2 – We must run Odin-v1.85, click on PDA and select the file CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100.tar

3. Enable USB Debuggin mode on development options.

3 – Turn off the Samsung Galaxy Note II and start it in download mode, for that we must press and hold VOLUME DOWN + HOME + POWER and then when we get the warning screen press VOLUME UP. Upon entering you will see a green Android and below it says “Downloading …” as you can see in the picture below left.

4 – Connect the Galaxy Note 2 to the PC via the USB cable, when we connect it we will see in Odin that the COM port turns yellow. If this does not happen may be because we do not have updated drivers for it therefore recommend downloading Samsung Kies from following link.

Ensure that the re-partition box located at the top left of odin is NOT checked

5 – Click on “Start” in Odin and wait for the process to finish. If all goes correctly COM port will turn green and we will get the message “PASS”.

Ready! already have root on your Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and you’re ready to install CyanogenMod 10.1.
