It seems that the Taiwanese firm has begun to deploy the update to Android 4.1 for a large number of One S devices across Europe.

This is the firmware version 3.16.401.8, which can be downloaded from here and the tutorial on how to do it from here. Weighs 612 MB and according to XDA, the following CIDs are part of the launch:
