The Droid DNA is the new flagship of HTC and is currently known for being the device with the best screen in the world. How much is its battery capable of supporting this large 5-inch screen? Here we analyze it.

The Droid DNA has a 1080p Super LCD3 panel of 5 inches with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and an incredible pixel density of 440 ppi. In addition, it is powered by a quad-core processor Snapdragon S4 Pro at 1.5 GHz with Adreno 320 GPU and features 2GB of RAM and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with Sense 4 + interface. But all this must be supported by a battery of “only” 2020mAh, perhaps one of the most criticized points of the device.

People of GSMArena has done a test to see how much battery life can offer and if the battery is really too small to withstand the large screen and processing power.

Talk Time

As for talk time, the HTC Droid DNA lasted 11 hours. While the device was not the best, its performance was more than acceptable.

Web Browsing

As for Internet browsing, in which comes into play the screen and processor, the Droid DNA offered a duration of 6 hours and 40 minutes, which, again, was surprising, being even above the Galaxy S3 running Jelly Bean .

Video Playback

The HTC Droid DNA can play Full HD video without downscaling. With seven hours and 30 minutes of playback, the device is placed with an average duration beating devices like the LG Optimus G or HTC One X.

Adding the standby length, which was also quite good, the HTC Droid DNA has a total duration of 49 hours. 49 hours is the time between charges if you use the device for calling one hour, an hour to browse and an hour to watch videos. Not a surprising result and is far from located in the top in this regard, but the truth is that is quite decent considering its large screen and processor.

Beyond these results, I would like the HTC Droid DNA to have a slightly larger battery that provides longer battery life. Also this is not a problem unique to this smartphone, but I think the battery is the big issue in most smartphones and one aspect which should be improved to not have to charge our Android almost daily.
