One category that has more applications in the Android market is video playback, a task required either to see our own videos and movies in HD if your device allows. That’s why today in AndroidADN we bring you a selection of the 10 best video player for Android.

The list was made based on the review of users, number of downloads and the potential of each application, it is still subjective and you might need to try several before you know which one you like best.

TOP 10 Best Video Players for Android

10. arcMedia Lite

This application has two versions depending on the device you have, Lite or Neon. In the beginning will tell you if supported or not, therefore we will know which we must install.

Its interface is somewhat grotesque and monochrome, and the notable advantage of Arc Media Lite is the formats for with which it has support avi, divx, flv, mkv, mov, mp4, m2v, m4v , rmvb, wmv, ts, vob, xvid.

Install Worth to try something new, but not much else.

9. VLC for Android Beta

The popular video player desktop now has its android version, and while it is still in beta is an application to follow closely as it offers some interesting features. It is aimed at advanced users and hackers who know how to handle special aspects of the device, thus not recommended for casual use.

VLC has support for various video and audio formats, streaming online and for now only supports CPU x86 devices or ARMv7 CPU.

8. Dice Player

Dice Player is a powerful application to play video that has a good amount of supported formats, with a nice interface and a generally acceptable performance.

While it is true that may not be the fastest of all when playing video, for something also occupies this position, is a very good app which has several interesting options, perhaps too pretentious.

Among its virtues we find pop-up play, but its speed decreases considerably, an interesting screen menu with the ability to speed up or slow down video easily and HW acceleration.

It is a good application in general terms with interesting attributes, I recommend you try it, you may stick with it.

7. mVideo Player

This is an ideal application to replace the original one that cames by default on our operating system because it does not add more supported formats neither codecs but will play what the factory smartphone can. So what is the advantage? The advantage is that we have options to set the playback and a simple yet efficient interface that will help us move through the different files.

Not the best or the most complete, that is clear, but at least not a bad option to replace our native player and try something different.

6. Meridian Media Player Revolute

I must confess I did not have high expectations when I tried Meridian Media Player revolute , but to be honest I was pleasantly surprised. Not only has a simple interface and powerful, but it has interesting options and I think that is a great application that is under-valued in the market.

For starters, Meridian Media Player revolute automatically detects which files were played earlier in this program or any other, which is already a very interesting detail.

It supports a lot of formats, and the folder navigation is fairly intuitive. Although its interface is not the best, it does the job.

But what stands out on this player are the gestures:on screen only we can touch to pause or play, all other actions must be carried out with gestures.

Slide down menu appears, if slip on the left side is the brightness adjustment (up more, down less), on the right volume, on top mute and the center of the screen forward to the right or backward to the left.

While other players incorporate the same gestures for similar actions, a detail of class I found that there was no menu on the screen, something that the average user may find it annoying but I think for the most advanced will appreciate having a more intuitive and effective control.

5. QQ Player

QQ Player is a discreet but effective application that will offer support for a wide range of video formats with an interface somewhat modest and limited.

Does not have great features like pop-up or streaming, but it is noteworthy that reproduction is more effective and in most cases will do the job.

Does not have codecs for different devices, which places one step below the best applications, however it is a good option for watching movies and the truth is I have not had trouble playing most of the files on my device .

4. BS Player

A solid app, with many features and it’s going to be very useful. That’s BS Player, one of the best applications for video playback on android.

With an interface somewhat over-loaded of options for my taste, which makes it not very intuitive, BS Player is a video player with hardware acceleration that will allow us to see in various video formats and subtitles and we will have the necessary codecs in the market for our devices.

(ARMV7 , ARMV6 o ARMV5).

It has the basic functions, provides pop-up play of audio and video on the home screen, and also has the option of telling us that amount of frames per second being played.

To my taste, except for its interface, is one of the best applications that you can not miss testing on your device.

3. VPlayer

VPlayer is one of the best video players for Android because it has the experimental HW acceleration for rendering and decoding of the HD formats MKV/AVI/MOV/FLV/TS/M4V/3GP .

Its user interface is intuitive and its functioning accurate. It is not so simple to synchronize folders with the videos as there are occasions that are not recognized, but in general this problem does not occur.

It supports codecsARMv7, ARMv6VFP o ARMv6 and offers the ability to watch videos online thanks to its streaming function. As color detail, the application allows us to take screenshot just by shaking the device.

A solid app, powerful and engaging, without doubt one of the best in Android.

2. Mobo Player

When we talk about video players in Android is impossible not to mention Mobo Player, one of the best multimedia applications with great features and an unbeatable popularity.

Mobo Player offers video playback with no conversion required, anytime and anywhere. Its interface is attractive and intuitive. It supports a lot of formats both video and subtitles and like any big video application has the necessary codecs to work properly on the different types of devices such as ArmV7 or ArmV6.

How to navigate folders on top is somewhat tedious as will take a long time to load if you have multiple videos on your device, but it is worth because then we will have a 3D pre-view files to be played.

Mobo Player is one of my favorites precisely because its interface is attractive, intuitive and easy. It also has the option to continue playing the video thumbnail on the screen to, for example, send a message and continue watching the movie, I know it’s not as necessary but does not ceases to be a advantage.

Undoubtedly you have to try it!

1. MX PLAYER

Undoubtedly the best application for video playback: aimed at high-end devices, has advantages such as hardware decoding and multicore decoding that may improve the performance up to 70% more, perfect for the ones who want to to play at the highest resolution possible without having lags.

With a user interface simple but effective, has a significant number of codecs (ARMv7 o ARMV6) that can be downloaded from Google Play depending on the device you have, this is important because if you download the wrong version we will not be able to play or find flaws such as video without audio.

MX Player is not only the most valued video application by users but also has interesting news like pinch to zoom in or out on the image during playback, the subtitle shift that automatically adjust the text scrolling subtitles or parental control that will prevent calls or opening other applications while the younger ones are in front of the player.

It has support for Jelly Bean and a huge amount of video and subtitle formats. You have the option to watch streaming videos and also has a paid version that will not have advertising embedded in the application. Undoubtedly the best option when playing video.
