Just a few moments I commented that Apple officially launched its new tablet, the iPad Mini, which is a more compact version of its ultra sold model and that comes to battle in the growing market of the 7 inch devices.

But in the same range we find the device created by Google and Asus, we talk about the Nexus 7, which offers an unbeatable value for money. Can the iPad Mini compete with the Nexus 7?

As comparisons are our specialty, today in AndroidADN we will put both models head to head to see who emerges victorious: Nexus 7 vs iPad Mini

Nexus 7 Vs iPad Mini: Screen

The Google Nexus 7 manufactured by ASUS, has a 7-inch screen mounted on an IPS LCD panel with LED backlight with a resolution of 800 x 1280, giving a density of 216 pixels per inch.

Although the screen has very sharp and brilliant colors, and its viewing angles are excellent, when exposed to sunlight is an experience so frustrating.

Meanwhile, the iPad Mini moves away a little of the phablets terrain with slightly larger screen, which reaches 7.9 inches.

This is mounted on an IPS panel LED-backilit that has a resolution of 768 × 1024 and offers a pixel density of 163ppi, considerably less than the Nexus 7. This is something that draws attention because it was one of the strongest points of Apple since the launch of the iPhone 4.

However, as with all products of the company of the apple, the screen maintains an important role and their colors are really bright even at wide viewing angles.

Opinion: It is still too early to make an objective judgment because we could not test the iPad Mini, but everything seems to be in favor of the Nexus 7 screen.

Nexus 7 Vs iPad Mini: Processor

The Nexus 7 is powered by an impressive NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A9 CPU accompanied by a ULP GPU GeForce of 12 cores, which left him many times in the top of the rankings of Android devices , whereas the iPad Mini, has a processor Apple A5 dual-core together with a GPU PowerVR SGX543MP2.

Review: At first this seems to be much less than the Tegra 3, testing the iPhone 5 with the same processor, we proved that not everything depends on the number of cores, and that optimization plays an extremely important role. So in this section until we see the benchmarks and the fluidity of the interface we declare a draw.

Nexus 7 Vs iPad Mini: Memory

As with all Apple devices, the iPad Mini comes in versions 16, 32 and 64GB without expandability through microSD cards, a limitation that we must also recognize in the Nexus 7. For this reason, in this section we also see a draw.

Nexus 7 Vs iPad Mini: Camera

The absence of a rear camera was one of the most criticized points of the Nexus 7, but this was something entirely understandable given its low price.

Thus, the iPad Mini has at this point an important advantage, since it has a 5 megapixel rear camera with infrared filter backlit capable of recording video at 1080p.

Opinion: Regarding the front cameras, both devices has a 1.2 megapixel, so the Apple device is the undisputed winner.

Nexus 7 Vs iPad Mini: Connectivity

In terms of connectivity the iPad Mini is also superior, offering speeds of up to 150 megabytes per WiFi, LTE connectivity, HSPA +, DC-HSPA and 3G depending on the model.

Review: In this section, the Mini iPad wins.
