Samsung Galaxy Ace S 2 and Galaxy Advance will receive the official update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean this year from Gingerbread, without making the jump to Ice Cream Sandwich.
The news has surprised friends and strangers since these are two midrange smartphones running Android 2.3, so you would think that should be updated to ICS. However, according to reports from the official profile of Samsung Bulgaria the devices would jump directly to Android 4.1, skipping the step of Android 4.0.
It will probably take a few months for the update to be ready for release, but is expected to arrive before the end of this year.
That’s all we know for now but we will keep abreast with any new developments. Big news for Galaxy Ace 2 and S Advance users!
