Earlier this year Intel presented the new processors Medfield at the Mobile World Congress. This is a new family of processors for mobile phones “good performance at low cost”, and as they say from Intel, this will be one of the world’s most efficient processors.
One of the problems for Intel presented by Android is that this operating system is developed for ARM processors, but today, have announced that they have achieved a fork of Android Jelly Bean capable of running on the Intel Medfiel.
That is why today there are very few manufacturers selling devices with Intel hardware as the Orange Santa Clara and some models of Lenovo and ZTE.
However, next year, no doubt we will be seeing greater penetration of Intel in the mobile device market where you will surely be surprised with this range of processors that promise to be much higher than the ARM.
As an example we were told that a Medfield Intel single-core 1GHz was on par with a Galaxy Nexus that has a TI OMAP 4460 processor ARM Cortex-A9 dual-core 1.2 GHz
